215984 2004-02-16 10:33:00 We have 3 different user profiles on our family XP each user can take up to 1 minute to load after entering their password. It used to load fast. Have tryed defrag and disk cleaner, no change. Have tryed 'spy bot and adaware' also. aceman (5282)

215987 2004-02-17 09:22:00 Thanks for the reply. It's a PC Company computer, AMD Athlon 1GHz CPU, 512DDR Ram. aceman (5282)
215988 2004-02-17 20:34:00 Megaman is right.

Also profiles can be slow to load if they've been clogged up with unnecessary stuff over a long time. Usually all the stuff in the profile gets loaded when you log in.

So perhaps make some new user accounts, and copy only vital data to the new ones.

215989 2004-02-18 06:42:00 I tried the fast user switch idea no change unfortunately. Next I'll try setting up new users and delete the old ones aceman (5282)
