217302 2004-02-22 01:09:00 Recently I got a cd burner using Nero 5.5 software and I'm having problems burning photos.....I'm green. I followed the instructions and everything appeared to be working and at the end it said it had been burnt successfully. But when I go to open up the cd there are no photos it is all data. Do I need to use a special cd for burning Photos? I used a TDK 40x data CD-R. I was told I could use any disc except a melody one.

I would appreciate any help on this. ...Thank you.

What do you mean by this? Can you just see lots of file names? Depending upon what OS and what you have Windows Explorer set to display with, you might only see file names rather than thumbnails of the images.

>I was told I could use any disc except a melody one.

That is strange. The Melody brand has a good name and should be able to be used without any problems.

No. However, as you want to make sure your images are safe on the CD, it pays to use a quality CD and check that they have been burnt properly by making sure you can view the files on the CD ok.

217304 2004-02-22 01:40:00 When I went to open up the cd I thought it would come up with all my photos on a slideshow. Well instead I have 5 Folders CDI, VCD, Ext, MPEGAV and segment. The segment folder has what looks like all my photos but just says item 1, item 2, etc and they are all data files. jonzsie (2689)
217305 2004-02-22 01:50:00 When you used Nero 5.5 to burn your images, did you use Nero Express? With the Wizard, you should choose Data then Data Disk and not Video/Pictures as this is for video's and not static images.

Try again using the Data option.

217306 2004-02-22 02:58:00 Melody are Good, but when burning, I normally use 24x. Most burners state 40+ speeds, but it is a lot more reliable to burn slower.

217309 2004-02-22 06:16:00 Thank you all for your help. I didn't realise for photos it was data, I thought movies/pictures meant photos. It worked like a dream when I selected data...I'm wrapt....thank you.

PS. Sorry I got your name wrong Peter.
