2004-02-22 00:57:00 It might be faulty. :D

Have a look inside the drive ... they are often full of dust, which does not help the operation.

Try a head cleaner. If that doesn't make it work, bin it.

2004-02-22 01:05:00 Could be that the media is also faulty. whiskeytangofoxtrot (438)
2004-02-22 01:55:00 check when you first start the puter you may see at the bottom of the screen somethign that says 'hit del key to enter setup' or some similar wording...........do this then in the setup screen check to see that the floppy is listed as a 1.44mb 3&1/2" (or is it 3&1/4") if it's listed as anything else that will most likely explain the problem...and you'll need to change it........on older bios's you use the pgup and pgdn keys to change stuff ............. drcspy (146)
2004-02-22 04:18:00 Tryed other drives on it and they dont work either....but it still shows up in my computer...how can it show up in my compter, and not be able to read? sjbryce (2129)
2004-02-22 05:40:00 IF you go into the bios and check as I have suggested then you may find it 's not 'registered' correctly with the system........in that case it wont matter even if you try a NEW drive it'll still not work....... drcspy (146)
2004-02-22 05:46:00 It could be a 720k fdd. mark.p (383)
2004-02-22 06:17:00 very very unlikely......wasn't that the old 5 &1/4" ? drcspy (146)
2004-02-22 07:22:00 No you are thinking about 360k. mark.p (383)
2004-02-22 08:20:00 hmm......you are right I think............so long ago lol......well anyway the FIRST thing to do is to check that bios listing...........as I said earlier if it's wrong dont matter what drive you put in there it wont work drcspy (146)
