| 217537 | 2004-02-22 23:35:00 | Wow, everything happening at the moment. Some unexpected things occuring, have been having some error messages as below, The following came back after I submitted an error report: Analysis Information Thank you for submitting an error report. Windows was temporarily unable to read your hard disk drive. It is unlikely that this error will repeat itself. However, if this is a recurring problem, Microsoft recommends that you contact the manufacturer that sold you your hard disk drive. The combo installed as expected also Nero 6.0.0.24 (as per the disc label). Couple of days down the track here and it's having trouble reading, sometimes won't read. Sometimes identified as CD drive only, sometimes DVD/CD-RW. Could I have a virus or is more likely to be a h'ware fault? |

| 217540 | 2004-02-23 07:02:00 | Checked all the connections, both on the devices and the board, Asus A7V266. By psu do you mean power supply? If so it's a 300w. After turning off the system I notice the heatsink on cpu is hot to the touch. Can't put a figure on it though. Is there a utility for this? But the other thing I see is the fan on Via VT8366 is not going. Should replace it but can't see how it comes off, looks like a couple of spring loaded pegs. | Nodrog (4738) | ||
| 217541 | 2004-02-23 07:19:00 | if you have some fan that's not working you MUST replace it BEFORE you do anything else.............possibly you have already cooked your goose :( | drcspy (146) | ||
| 217542 | 2004-02-23 08:12:00 | Pulled the sticker off and gave it a lube, just like my daddy showed me. Spinning really well now. Good old Asus, give your M'board a service and away ya go. Hasn't fixed the dodgy combo drive though. Might pull it and take it back, see what the guys in the shop make of it. |
