Don't need fancy features, just a basic single user program.

217384 2004-02-22 08:07:00 Not really possible to lock down Windows 9x or ME.
You need NT/2K/XP for any real (or imagined) security.

217389 2004-02-22 10:39:00 Windows 9x is fundamentally Insecure. Fundamentally Not Secure.
FatXYZ is Not Secure.
They were designed with the idea that nobody would ever want to harm anybody elses PC. They were not designed with Security in mind (Well, some parts probably partly were. Some of the Networking perhaps).

Apparently replacing the Shell is the best way of locking people out of the programs etc you dont want, with DesktopX? Never tried it personally.....

There's ways you can _mostly_ stop users from getting in to where they shouldnt, so what do you want them locked out of?

Chill.

217391 2004-02-23 03:09:00 There's only one way to make a computer secure. Lock it in a room with no windows, and no network connections. That will slow down honest people. :D Graham L (2)

Your forgetting the one way screws to secure it to the ground/desk.
