217681 2004-02-23 11:48:00 I'm still trying to connect 2 machines, one running Win XP Pro, one running WinXP Pro/Linux dual boot. Both machines ping fine, are able to both use the ADSL router attached via hub and are able to be used for LAN games (UT2003) However, the dual boot machine is unable to acess the workgroup at all from my network places (despite the properties showing the same workgroup name as the other) and the WinXP machine is able to access the workgroup and see the other machine but is told it doesn't have permission when trying to access it.

Both machine have files shared and simple file sharing turned on. The Network troubleshooter can't find anything wrong and I can't see where the problem is. Both machines were able to communicate fine before Linux was loaded although I don't see how this could affect things.

217683 2004-02-24 01:13:00 You could try running the XP network wizard on both machines again. MaryJane (5294)
