217516 2004-02-22 21:25:00 Hi, my squid programme keeps quitting. The end of the log file looks like this:

2004/02/19 08:41:32| Ready to serve requests.
2003/02/19 09:00:40| urlParse: Illegal character in hostname 'www.free%20arcade.com'
2003/02/20 15:09:00| urlParse: illegal character in hostname 'www.actionflash.co.\'

Is there a way of stopping it from quitting? The school complains when the internet is off to often :-D

Thanks,
Sparq

So that's why the internet goes down.....

It could be all that blocking we did...............

217519 2004-02-26 00:45:00 I have an idea that those illegal characters might not be the problem. ;-)

Squid should be smart enough to just log them and ignore the requests, and it seems to have done that. The first one is 20 minutes after the startup. The second is 6 hours later.

What OS are you running? Linux might give useful information with tail -20 /var/log/messages.
