217801 2004-02-24 09:05:00 How do I get rid of the white background in a saved image. normaly this wouldn't be a problem, but I am updating/designing a website and the white background sourrounding the images looks out of place on a colored backround. Have tried deled the white using image editing software but it is still there when I put the image on the website.

thanks - Jacob

Maybe you didn't crop out the non-image area before the final scan? Anyway, it sounds as if you need to load the images into some photo editing program and crop them.

But maybe I didn't understand what you meant, so sorry if that's so.

Your problem could be one of 3 things:

1) Your Internet Cache has stored the
old images, and when you load the page,
it loads the old graphics

2) You haven't edited the pictures correctly

3) Your HTML and/or CSS (if you are using it)
could be telling the browser that the 'margin'
of the image should be white padding.

If you could provide any extra info, ie what HTML
programme you are using, or which browers you
are using to render the HTML page. Any further info
would be most useful.

217804 2004-02-24 09:21:00 If you save the image as a gif, you should be able to nominate a specific colour as transparent, in the save options. Obviously, you need to make the 'background' a colour you don't use elsewhere in the image. :| wuppo (41)
