218030 2004-02-25 06:07:00 If that comes from a trusted source, which at this stage would most likely be an insider, then it may be true.

Until it's an official press release I wouldn't believe it though.

218031 2004-02-25 09:24:00 I would be thinking its false ATM.

Its my current understanding that their network simply wouldnt be able to handle the extra traffic'ing that sorta thing would produce.

I have been wrong in the past though......

Chill.

218032 2004-02-25 10:11:00 In my opinion (derived from sources I cannot mention *shifty eyes*), it ain't true. Growly (6)
218033 2004-02-25 10:35:00 my word from the man is that its not happening form some time, they will be doing a deal later in the year. robsonde (120)
218034 2004-02-25 20:05:00 Considering how much revenue Vodafone would stand to lose if they did this, I'd say it's extremely unlikely.

It's interesting that heavy users of text messaging seem to be unaware that Vodafone offer a plan for $25 per month whereby you get 150 free text messages. The only catch is that you don't get any free minutes, and airtime is quite expensive on this plan.

218035 2004-02-25 20:34:00 im not saying that it wont happen but from what ive heard they dont consider telecom competition anymore so dont bother competing with them :) Budda (2736)
218036 2004-02-25 22:57:00 Just spoken to our Vodafone rep and was told NO.....they have no plans to slash pricing on texting whatsoever and the $7 text rumour is just that a rumour. dipstick01 (445)
218037 2004-02-26 02:58:00 $25 per month / 150 text messages = 16.66 cents per text.

Hardly a bargain when you can text as much as you want with Telecom for $10.

I believe people who have a hearing disability can get quite a good deal tho.

218038 2004-02-27 04:22:00 ok but dont u think that they should be doing something like that cause people would want to get telicom phones and isnt vodafone way richer than telicom? Hiren (3722)
