| 218381 | 2004-02-26 12:26:00 | Hello... my current spec: radeon 9800xt 2x ide hdd audigy 2 512 DDR now, i wanna upgrade a athlon64 3200+ cpu & Gigabyte mb in that system. what is the minimum watts of power supply you think i need? Will 400w do? I currently only have 300w, i dont think its enough if i add the athlon64 cpu in. |

| 218383 | 2004-02-26 12:48:00 | You could get a Thermaltake Purepower 480Watt PSU (The Butterfly PSU glows 7 different colours ;-) ). They are costly but you won't have to worry about noise or it delivering incorrect voltages. They also come with more than ample plugs (I got 11 on mine) Cables are all nicely wrapped up. Cost is about $180 to $215 depending on where you shop. Dick smith have a 400W PSU for $109 but I can't attest to its reliability, although Dick Smith of late have been getting better and better equipment that seems to be more reliable than the rubbish they used to peddle. (on a side note, Why is the spell check in American? :D don't belive me then type the word colour and then do a spell check on it :-) ) |
