218347 2004-02-26 07:38:00 Does anyone know where I can download the font 'lineprinter' to be used in Word 2000

I have looked high and low and wondered whether such a font exists for Word

I believe 'lineprinter' is 8.4 points in height and that Courier New is similar but I cannot get Courier New to accept a decimal value for a point size.

218348 2004-02-26 07:53:00 Lineprinter is included in Word 2002 (Word XP) and is fixed size 8.5 points, but Word will allow scaling up (although the default drop down selection is only 8.5).

Its not in Word 97, have not checked Word 2000 as its not currently loaded.

I don't see it available as a download anywhere.

218350 2004-02-26 21:42:00 Curious..

The font is not in the Fonts folder (unless it has a very cryptic name) and a complete search does not show it up. One wonders if its an embedded system font within Word itself.

218351 2004-02-26 21:51:00 Perhaps you can buy a real line printer. I've seen a 600 lpm one go for $15 at an auction. :D Graham L (2)
218352 2004-02-26 21:56:00 "8.4 points high"? It would actually be 12 pt (6 lines/inch). Type sizes are the "body size"in real typography. The normal lineprinter pitch is 10/inch. Courier seems to be the "non-standard" when a fixed pitch is required. Graham L (2)
