| 218224 | 2004-02-25 23:20:00 | Hi Team I am preparing to download Windows W2K updates for storage on CD and I don't know whether to download the Jet and Net updates. I don't know what MS Jet is or does, and I am similarly ignorant about .Net. What's the story? Cheers Billy 8-{) |

The .NET Framework is required for all new applications built using .NET (Microsofts latest programming language). If apps arent working, then they'll tell you if they need it or not. Chill. |

| 218228 | 2004-02-25 23:54:00 | They are both runtime libs, much like what vbrunxxx.dll used to be... It seems mickysoft is moving towards the idea of the PC being a huge database. I would think, unless they were in the optional listing at MS update then they are installed on your system, so you may need to update them. The MS jet engine is used by MS office and the .net framework by applications, or office 2002 or better. |
