218440 2004-02-26 23:40:00 When I dial up,
I get the message that my homepage cannot be found, the same message applies if I try to get here at PF1,and other sites I normally visit.
This only started happening in the last 2 days.
I do actually connect,but it's at 35-45kbs,not the normal 52kbs.
When this happens,Zone Alarm tells me that...com surrogate is trying to access the internet,....it also shows ,application dllhost.exe, version 5.1.2600(XPclient:010817-1148),wants to access also along with,..msdtc.exe. IP.oooport 3027,....and mmc.exe.I told Z/A not to allow these access.
I use XPhome, all patches up to date,I run NOD32 antivirus and I do a daily scan for virus',none found, all my settings are set to medium and I go nowhere I shouldn't.
I am not on a network and from memory I always had a direct internet connection,I now seem to be on manual proxy configuration.
When I open Z/A,open my firewall, in the zones section this is showing....Realtek RTL 813..xfamily fast ethernet.NIC
....IP. address 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.
....entry type adapter.
When looking through search, this seems to be associated with networks, yet I'm not on one.
If anyone understands whats going on here, and can help,I'd be most happy. This type of stuff is new to me.
Thanks
DD

218441 2004-02-27 00:49:00 1. Check in Internet options to see if your home page has changed

2. Download and install AdAware from www.lavasoftusa.com
to see if spyware is causing the problem

3. Aquick search on Google for com surrogate showed it and dllhost are related to IIS web server.
