218706 2004-02-27 18:56:00 Greetings to all. I am running Win XP home. My floppy drive has disappeared, there is no reference to it anywhere, don't even know how long it has been gone. Any suggestions please! Tony S. (450)

But seriously, check the BIOS, use the F1 key on startup, PC should say what to hit for BIOS or configuration.
Check the floppy has not been disabled.

Next, open up the PC and check the power and the interface cable to the floppy drive.

Last, in control panel, system (i use classic interface), click Hardware tab, then Device manager on right in the middle layer. Check the floppy drive hasn't been disabled.

see how you go.

218708 2004-02-27 21:40:00 Have you recently installed TweakUI? There is an option to remove drives from Explorer's view within TweakUI that you may have changed and forgotten about. tommy (2826)

Cheers to all
