AdAware or Spybot to stop the hi-jacks, Re-boot
and use system restore to get to the last known
good set-up. And get that weasel a good lawyer.

At least it appears you have a hardware id.

Some Compaq computers have a hardware ID. This will be displayed by the BIOS setup. (Often entered with F10 when the white rectangle appears in the top RH side of the screen at boot time).

A program I was trying to register required some "HWID code" to make it run. I was getting worried about that, then discovered that the program in question automatically generates that number anyway to identify and lock the software to that particular machine.
