just got an good old 4mb ram 1mb video card 200mb HDD (It had windows 3.1
but know it got reformated) and I want to run linux on it and use it as a NET WORK HUB and back up server (ill put like a 60Gig in to it) so will linux ram on this "BEST" or not?

Quite frankly, it is a computer for the bin.

but yes. it is a computer for teh bin. its too slow for anything and chances are if yit'll die soon

put 95 on it. its teh only thing it'll take

218595 2004-02-27 14:37:00 Well, I used to run windows 95 on alesser beast than that, 4MB is fairly simple, 2 MB is quite a struggle (!)
Peanut Linux from about 1999 will run easily enough on that box - even a dual OS setup. It is rather minimal though, but well documented - I learned to get it in to life (having never tried Linux before) with just the documentation in the distro.

Have fun, and with 8MB - - good stuff :-)
