2004-02-29 11:14:00 | Greetings, Ive really been using my Digital Camera a lot, and a lot of people I know are asking for copies of the pictures... So rather than manually moving the ones my friends want to my Server PC (Which runs Apache2 amongst other things), I'd rather keep the lot on there, and use some sort of app to thumnail the images, and display them on a web-page. Is there anything (For Linux preferrably seeing as there's not a Doze box in the house) that will allow me to do something along these lines? Many thanks Chill.

2004-02-29 14:03:00 | Hey Chill, I too am about to embark on finding a plugin that'd work with Apache2 for generating thumbnails but I haven't started yet. You could read more into the GD library which has been pointed out to me which could do what you want but I believe it has a little coding involved and probably not the simplest methods. You could look at Apache::Gallery and also Apache::AutoIndex, although these may not be supported in Apache2. If you do discover something useful would be much appreciated in your findings. Cheers, Noel Nosivad

2004-03-01 10:22:00 | Well I feel like a bit of a dumbass, but here's a short story: I wanted to make an image Gallery right. The logical thing to do would be to search for "Gallery", right? I ran: emerge search gallery This is what I came up with: http://mkgallery.sourceforge.net/ Im compiling it now, I'll let you know how I get on. If you give it a shot yourself, let me know how you do :-) You'll need Imagemagick as it mentions on the site, so you may have to hunt down packages for that for your distro also. Cheers Chill.

2004-03-01 10:24:00 | > ..............................Windows. Well.. I dont know of a Doze app that'll do what Im after... I dont want to view it on MY PC, I want a website to be generated which will give me thumbnails of all the images in a Folder. Aside from that, any app you tell me of is kinda useless seeing as there's not a Doze box in the house, and I'm not going to be running it from work either :p Chill.

Now to just make a "Host" page that lists all the different .html files :-) As you can see I'm still getting to grips with how to use the Camera Whaddaya think? Cheers Chill. |
