| 1357994 | 2013-10-26 21:09:00 | Hi guys, How's everyones long weekend going? Mine is just catching up on some gaming - Battlefield, Dishonored, Rage . I built my PC about 3yrs ago . Still goes great but thought maybe some component upgrade is required . I mostly use the PC of gaming, ripping videos, running some virtual pcs for testing and normal net surf . Current specs: GIGABYTE P67X-UD3-B3 Intel P67 Cooler Master GX 750W G . Skills X series 8GB DDR3-1600 (2x4GB) Intel Sandy Bridge Core i5 2400 3 . 1GHz 6M LGA1155 Sapphire HD5850 Extreme 1G GDDR5 (x2 - CrossFire Mode) 3 HDDs (WD Black Edition) Perhaps a new GPU (something like an Asus GTX770-DC2OC-2GD5) and a new CPU (Intel Core i7 3770 Ivy Bridge) my motherboard does not support Haswell . At this stage I can only upgrade 1 item, so the GPU would be it I suppose . Thanks |

| 1357998 | 2013-10-27 07:33:00 | Thanks all... looks like it will most likely be the R9 280X. I wonder if Radeon has sorted their drivers for Rage. | ronyville (10611) | ||
| 1357999 | 2013-10-27 21:01:00 | Meh, the R9290x shipped with AMD usual POS cooler...I dont understand why they cant update their 3 yr old cooler ***....the 280x is just rebadged 7970 with lower clocks, drivers are much better, however frame pacing isnt yet working for DX9 or crossfire...Frankly, how any manufacturer can get away with false advertising of their product features, IDK?..2 yrs old this technology and still not right! As for the 770, its a rip off...more money for the same performing 7970\280x...Id wait for mid Nov for 780Ti release and price adjustments down the whole scale of NV cards.... |
