| 1356538 | 2013-10-19 22:12:00 | I had to reset my Netcomm wifi modem and use new passwords. Now my HP deskjet 3050 J610 which was previously hidden in my Home network now shows as public and unsecured, as a stand alone wireless connection. I cant find anywhere in either the HP manual;Win7 Help; or the Home Network or Network Sharing Centre (Win7 Home premium) to secure it. Help Please :horrified |

You have to change the security in the modem to something better that WEP (WPA2) then give it a password first, then save settings | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
| 1356540 | 2013-10-20 21:46:00 | Thanks Speedy. The printer had told me to push the wps button on the modem but nothing changed. Sometimes the IPS(?) address appeared but it was dynamic and wouldnt settle. When it finally does it is still unsecured and public. | Apteryx (294) | ||
| 1356541 | 2013-10-20 21:52:00 | I wouldnt use WPS. Go into the modem change it to WPA2 / AES or similar. Then go into the printer's settings for the wireless/ Let it find the access point / then put the password in for the wireless | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
