| 1356792 | 2013-10-24 22:28:00 | What is there appears to be pre Microsoft taking over Hotmail. I somehow don't think info 15+ years old is going to be relevant :) I've still been unable to reproduce the issue sending to my @hotmail.com account. I've tried sending from an Office365-hosted exchange server, via Xtra mail, via Gmail and via my own SMTP server. It almost sounds like it is treating them as signature inline images that are failing to load, so it's not rendering them at all, weird. Is there any consistency in which images do or don't work, for instance? |

Yes it seems that this problem has existed before and like you I dont think some of the fixes are relevant today . :) Im starting to wonder if the mail handler that the embedded picture is sent from is the problem . I have been working through Outlook Express which is quite old, but works fine sending embedded pictures to anywhere but Hotmail . And no, the type of picture doesnt seem to matter . Jpgs, gifs even animated gifs turn up missing but only to Hotmail . :D |

| 1356794 | 2013-10-26 01:51:00 | Well now, for those interested in this phenomenon, I have struggled on and found that if I send an embedded photo from another computer using Thunderbird it turns up fine in Hotmail. So I wonder if any of you who still have Outlook Express would care to send an embedded/inserted photo to their (or my) Hotmail account to see what happens. The queer thing is the loss of the pictures applies to forwarded Mail as well as whats composed on my computer. Actually, it has just occurred to me whilst typing this that testing Outlook (Outlook Expresss big brother) may prove interesting. Ill report back. :) |

| 1356795 | 2013-10-26 02:45:00 | Ok, no problems from Outlook. :groan: So, for the records, the way I see it, is that you cant Send or Forward messages with embedded/inserted pictures from Outlook Express to Hotmail Accounts without the Pictures being removed without trace. No problem from Outlook Express to anywhere else and no problem from anywhere else to Hotmail. :groan: However, I would be grateful is someone else could confirm my findings. A fix for it would be even better. ;) |
