1356772 2013-10-23 02:53:00 @Lurking:
Just tried out Firefox 24.0 with Outlook and message could be typed in OK and sent OK. Maybe one of the addons in Firefox could be the problem you are having? Maybe try starting Firefox in Safe Mode (addons disabled) and see if that works.

Rod, worked in safe mode.

Notice two Microsoft add-ons in there Microsoft DRM 9.0.0.4503, a DRM Netscape Network Plugin, should they be in there ?.

1356773 2013-10-23 03:14:00 Rod my problem occurs if I send of forward a message that contains an embedded picture (insert) from Outlook Express to a Hotmail account.

They get the message less the picture. However, those not using Hotmail get the message complete with picture.

Got me stumped. :D

Is there any sort of warning message relating to the Picture or simply not there ?

Replicated the problem to a degree, BUT no idea if this is the same.

Open Outlook.com sign in, next to your name is a cog, click that, More Mail settings, Under Preventing Junk email - Filters and reporting - down the bottom make sure "Show attachments, pictures, and links for senders with good reputations" is selected.

If it is, go back a page, try this, under "Safe and blocked senders" Under "Safe Sender" Add in the persons email that is trying to send, close Outlook.com, send a mail and see if the Pictures show or nothing has changed.

No Wainui, no picture or place holder. (like when you sometimes get a red box with a cross in the corner where the picture should be).

Just the text, nothing else.

If you like I will PM you a hotmail address and you can send me a picture and some text and I’ll take a screenshot of what I receive and post it here.

Just wondering if it might be an ISP problem although only Hotmail is affected.

Checked the other things you mentioned and everything seems in order there too.

The more I think about it the surer I get that the new Hotmail/Outlook is what is removing imbedded pictures.

Problem is how to stop it? :groan:

1356778 2013-10-24 01:54:00 I use a hotmail.com account regularly, and have never noticed an issue with receiving images. I get 50+ messages a day through it, most of which at the very least have inline images in signature blocks, if not the message body itself. What browser are you using? What if you try a different browser? inphinity (7274)

1356780 2013-10-24 03:41:00 The only reason I checked Hotmail out, is we hope to travel o/s and the daughter had us use Hotmail back in the early 2000's, but things might be different in this day and age.

Thanks.

Lurking.

Given this , the easy answer for Lurking is to use gmail instead.

1356781 2013-10-24 03:42:00 We thought Facebook was hard to cancel, try Hotmail.

Will use a Smart Phone when o/s.

Hope Microsoft don't screw-up Outlook Express next, otherwise it's Yahoo or Gmail for us.

Lurking.
