The judge should have fined him an extra $4 just to show how stupid she really is then it would have been a dollar a metre. Fined $3750 on a hill 3754m sounds like a joke to me. Stupid Judge and even more stupid bylaw.
The down wash should have caused some movement in the snow if he was on the top like they say.

1336161 2013-04-10 07:39:00 A few years ago I was trout fishing in the Leslie and Karamea rivers . It takes a couple of days to walk in there when a helicopter came in and dropped off some fishermen. I thought the lazy ****s why dont they walk in and out like me. They stayed at the Bend hut with me but I wouldn't talk to them or give them the time of day...........

Did that make you feel any better?

Were you a better man for your actions?

Several years ago, I helicoptered in to the Crow Hut on the confluence of the Karamea and Crow rivers from Motueka Valley and saved a 2-day walk in and a 2-day walk out.

Was I being a parasite?

Was I (we) being lazy ****s?

Of course not!!

1336164 2013-04-10 21:41:00 I think we should walk everywhere and get rid of these new fangled things called cars and helicopters.

I thought as we were talking rubbish I thought we should all join in.

1336167 2013-04-11 02:55:00 Quite right too, to have the book thrown at this pilot.

Obviously few of you are outdoor types. There are already far, far too many "commercial concessions" for tourist flights and other commercial tourist activities in National Parks.

Planes and National Parks do not belong together except for SAR and other legitimate purposes.
I would agree with you if not for the fact that they are legally allowed to get close enough to disturb the peace. If anyone on the mountain is going to be disturbed anyway, what is the harm in sticking around for a few more minutes?
