| 1356762 | 2013-10-22 23:42:00 | Just tried with Firefox 24 and 26, Chrome 29 and 30, and IE 8, 9, 10 and 11. Works fine. | inphinity (7274) | ||
| 1356763 | 2013-10-23 00:09:00 | Well while we are dealing with the newer Hotmail/Outlook, my wife and a mate, who use a hotmail address and have done for years, now cant see any pictures that are embedded in their mail. Ok if the pictures are attached, but not embedded. Anyone throw any light on this phenomena? Google has not been my friend. :thanks |

| 1356764 | 2013-10-23 01:33:00 | Thanks guys !!!!!. Chrome 30, IE 8 both okay, just "stupid FF24", should have stayed with FF16. Used Hotmail a lot when most Genealogy forums used that media for private contacts, now most forums are real time even if the world clock differs in most areas. Well now we know it's FF, what's stopping hate messages being typed in the body of the email ?. Lurking. |

| 1356765 | 2013-10-23 01:41:00 | Lurking .... I assume that you've tried scanning for virus / malware / spywear ??? If so, what have you scanned with ?? Yes, have to do that almost every day, did it last night, but problem with Hotmail still causing probs.. SuperAntiSpyware, Spybot, MalwareBytes and CCleaner. Hoping Microsoft's suite of firewall/antivirus is doing better than their Outlook.com email system, especially if some ISP can block it's use. Lurking. |

| 1356767 | 2013-10-23 02:05:00 | People replying to your question dont know your PC skill level . Given they way the question was asked, it SEEMED you might have been a PC novice confused with Outlook . com's bizzare interface Looking at it outlook . com again, your question was spot on . Bizarre interface in Outlook . com, most here wont be using it . But it works fine on Firefox . If using IE, disable all IE addons & try again, especially any AV addons What happens when you actually click on 'add a message' , those words should dissapear & you type over where they were Can you type into 'add a subject' ? 1101 go with your first two sentences, but have been with computers' since 1972, mainframe, mini and pc computers . Probably forgotten more than most about how the b l o o d y things work now . Novice would be correct in todays fast moving technology, rofl . As you have rightly pointed out "add a message" was the question in my original post, the add a message dives away and as soon as you try to type something, a bar pops up at the bottom of the screen and a letter appears there next letter it turns red and finito . | 1356768 | 2013-10-23 02:16:00 | @Lurking: Just tried out Firefox 24.0 with Outlook and message could be typed in OK and sent OK. Maybe one of the addons in Firefox could be the problem you are having? Maybe try starting Firefox in Safe Mode (addons disabled) and see if that works. @B.M.: I composed an email and chose Insert, Pictures inline (I guess that is what you meant) a couple of photos OK. They appeared in the email I was composing OK and I can see them in Thunderbird OK. I can also see them fine in the Sent folder on Outlook. I'm using Kubuntu Linux 12.04 but I don't think that should make any difference. |

Rod, quick find function is far too complex for me and I would not know how to carry that out anyway. The only reason I checked Hotmail out, is we hope to travel o/s and the daughter had us use Hotmail back in the early 2000's, but things might be different in this day and age. Thanks. Lurking. |

Rod my problem occurs if I send of forward a message that contains an embedded picture (insert) from Outlook Express to a Hotmail account. They get the message less the picture. However, those not using Hotmail get the message complete with picture. Got me stumped. :D |
