| 1335386 | 2013-04-04 03:26:00 | I agree in principle, but there's no one worth voting for which makes it a little less true. Not voting could be seen as a protest on the calibre of our political parties. Meh, if I found myself in a position like that, I'd vote for a joke party. :p |

| 1335388 | 2013-04-04 03:43:00 | The Oxford Dictionary defines corruption: "Definition of corruption noun [mass noun] 1 dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in power, typically involving bribery:" If those on the the minimum wage are only intitled to .25c per hour increase then there can be NO justification for a 73% pay rise for those who produce SFA.I am of an age when the 'AVERAGE" New Zealander could expect a fair shake and expect to be treated with dignity and a sense of FAIRNESS. Today I believe that is no longer the case and what is presented as 'Normal" is a CORRUPTION of what being a NEW ZEALANDER was really about. Only thing is, it's the world over. I can't believe that it is acceptable for that bloke and that sheila , mine owners in Australia, whoare making obscene money from the wealth of the land, surely the bulk should go to the country. A return on their capitol is one thing. Just not right. |

| 1335391 | 2013-04-04 22:30:00 | Most of the country voted National at the last election and they would right now if there was another election. Most of the country think we are doing not too bad in the midst of a growing world GFC. And most of the country are aware of what the alternative would be. |

| 1335392 | 2013-04-04 23:00:00 | It is incorrect to say that "most of the country" .... this and that. Have you taken into account those who did NOT vote? Clearly it's less than 50% of the NZ population voted for National - certainly, not the majority. |

Clearly it's less than 50% of the NZ population voted for National - certainly, not the majority. If you don't vote then you don't have any say. Say if 60% of the population voted and 40% voted national then over 50% voted for them |

Clearly it's less than 50% of the NZ population voted for National - certainly, not the majority. Well, around 50% of those who voted, which is really all that matters. If it was just Labour, Maori, Greens, NZ First, and National, a 'non vote' would count for something, but I don't count those who chose not to vote as voters. To me, voters are those who can and do vote, and if you don't even vote for a protest party (Bill and Ben part anyone?), complaining is pretty poor. /rant |
