| 1356694 | 2013-10-21 19:48:00 | No there is no upgrade path from Windows 8.1 to Windows 3.11, you will have to do a clean install. Don't forget to reformat your drive to FAT. | Agent_24 (57) | ||
| 1356695 | 2013-10-21 19:59:00 | Also you can't have more than a handful of megabytes of RAM as Windows 3.11 is 16-bit. | pcuser42 (130) | ||
| 1356696 | 2013-10-21 22:33:00 | And it is hard to find good 16 bit progs anymore. | linw (53) | ||
| 1356697 | 2013-10-21 23:44:00 | is it possible to upgrade or do i have to reinstall? Upgrade to Win9 beta, divide by 3 to get you to Win3. Then upgrade to 3.11 You will need to divide the hard drive by 2 to get to Fat16 . Also take your 300G hard drive and partition it to 150 2Gig partitions. You will now be able to play wolf3D & Doom if you exit Win3.11 into Dos. Well worth the effort I think I also recommend a 3rd party mem management program (qemm) , else anything over 640K wont be used. |
