219431 2004-03-02 02:09:00 I am a new XP user and as such would like to take advantage of its CD burning capabilities.
But I have come up against a problem I cant solve (and XP help is of no use at all)
What I want to do is copy an audio tape (played on my stereo) to CD, is this possible? If so how?

219432 2004-03-02 02:32:00 Get a audio in cable and plug it to your computer line in hole. Then u should be able to hear the sound off the computer's speakers.U should then be able to record the sound using windows sound recorder.Record the it as a wav file then probabl nero can make an audio cd by converting the wav file to audio format.Thats how i do it!!! yingxuan (3330)
219433 2004-03-02 02:38:00 Yes, it is possible but you will need some third party programs to do the job . Firstly you will need to record your tapes to your hard drive then burn them to your CDs . There are a number of good programs that will do these jobs for you including MusicMatch from http://www . musicmatch . com, Goldwave or Cooledit .

I have not used it myself but MusicMatch will do the entire job for you but I am not sure about the other two .

Here are a few links to other threads on this subject - have a good look through them and feel free to ask further questions if you need to .
