220261	2004-03-06 00:05:00	Oh the joys of spyware paranoia. Some people run these programs on a daily basis. WTF? Fact is you can completely rid yourself of these problems by simply: 1) running Opera, Firebird or non ActiveX compliant browser. 2) getting off your useless internal 56k modem and getting a NAT router & broadband 3) new antivirus software like Norton's does away with spyware. Forget free and nasty alternatives 4) if you insist on staying on 56k get a real firewall. By that I mean one that costs well over $100. You get what you pay for. 220262	2004-03-06 01:13:00	Every test i have read of Norton’s spyware detection have rated it as the poorest available,... I do agree with the advice to switch to an alternative browser though. The view that everyone should just ditch dial up is pure arrogance. The real world called, they say you vacated your seat.	metla (154)
220263	2004-03-06 02:32:00	aroc, I do not know what you mean, I use all types of browsers and still find MyIE2 to be the best overall by far, although I do like Firefox. I think that at times whilst I have been using both FireBird and Mozilla things have got into my computer and hijacked various parts of the system. Even if you have a firewall, and I use ZoneAlarm, it does not stop sophisticated attempts to interfer with something in your computer from the page that you have chosen to be on, in general, I know there are proviso's on that, no matter what browser you use. IE6 is more vulnerable because it is integrated into the OS more than with the other lightweight browsers, but for all that I find all the features of MyIE2 to be so useful that I am prepared to put up with the hassle. I am aware of a system that has a Linux Firewall and they still get virus's in. CU Rob	zqwerty (97)
