| 220919 | 2004-03-07 12:20:00 | i just had the chance to update my windows xp to service packs and whatnot, and the windows update website told me to download service pack 1, so i assumed i needed to do that before installing SP2. but after installing sp1 windows xp wont start at all and kept going back to the options screen where u had to choose between safe mode, last known good config and normal start. in the end, after many attempts i had to go back to pre-SP1 using system restore. has this happened to anybody? and what can i do to fix this? Thanks a lot |

| 220922 | 2004-03-08 00:02:00 | For various reasons I've reloaded XP and updated it by SP1. I've had your problem happen several times and it is a real pain. It's happened with a new install of XP and also with SP1. The only way I have found to get the fool things to load is to do it again from scratch and sometimes, again. Not much fun when it means you have to reload all of your drivers too. Bryan. |
