220692 2004-03-06 23:35:00 I rang Xtra then Telecom a short while ago as I am seriously thinking of changing up from Jetstream starter (with Xtra continuing as ISP at this stage).

Xtra were of limited help - but "Monica" of Telecom said to wait until tomorrow as new options are coming out. I thought at first that I was picking her up wrong but she was very clear and re-stated it. She seems to know what she is talking about and from what she said I am very pleased to stay patient and wait for the announcement.

220694 2004-03-06 23:56:00 Hi

I think you don't have to ring telecom...

i just checked on the website.. all the information are all on the new page of http://www.telecom.co.nz

they are still keeping jetstream starter as their basic package...

220695 2004-03-06 23:59:00 Hi Whiskeytangofoxtrot
I have - but have missed any that talked about a new announcement that is going to be made tomorrow.

Quoting the godfather - he says of the deals announced not too long ago
The quoted package prices ($39.95, $49.95, $59.95) are a complete package.
ISP (Xtra) is included.

For $39.95 you get 256/128 @ 1 GB per month.

Monica talked today of a new(er) deal which is to be the current cost of Jetstream starter and 256/128 @ 10 GB per month

220696 2004-03-07 00:55:00 Hi Misty

the jetstream starter which have 5GB international traffic charge at $64 . 95 . . .

however, if u r joining the flat rate, it is $69 . 95, (which is $5 more . . . )

have a look on the range of plan on this website

220697 2004-03-07 01:05:00 Hi Jacky
I looked up the link that you gave but it shows the existing options that I looked at this morning before I rang Xtra then Telecom. "Monica" talked about new options which are only going to be announced tomorrow, she said. They would not appear yet on the website. None of the existing options gives a total of 10 GB per month @ 256/128 as I understand.

I can only go on what I was told. Did query as I thought she might have been talking about the existing stuff.

Hope I have not got my hopes up too much !!! :(

220698 2004-03-07 01:16:00 Hello Misty

220699 2004-03-07 01:28:00 Hi Stu
Thanks. I have come to the conclusion that what I understood from "Monika" was not the real McCoy. I rang back to Telecom and talked with Arie who said that the plans were the ones already on the Internet (as Godfather and you said). It pays to check as different Xtra and Telecom operators seem to give different info. The 10 BG package that Monica talked about is the flat rate one I am now told.

Apologies to all for wasting your time !

Will change to the 1 GB Package as it should be enough for us.

Just bear in mind that it counts national traffic as well as international traffic in this plan (Jetstream Surf 1000) unlike the old Jetstart Plan which seperated national from international.

It depends on what info they have got from there bosses etc… I suggest you wait a day or two for thing to settle down a bit before choosing what play to go with, as you never know it might change before tomorrow…
