| 220526 | 2004-03-06 07:02:00 | I have been testing my newly built PC, I have found the front USB ports to be intermittent,if I use them to download photos from my camera they both work ok. If I use them to go on line with a USB adapter it will be ok for a few minutes then fault and not show connection linked and drops the wireless connection. The motherboard is a ECS N2U400-A with a XP 2500 athlon,it has 6 usb ports in total and all seem to be the same, have I missed something in the setup or have I fitted the front plugs on the motherboard wrong and it effects all six. Any help thanks, John. |

| 220527 | 2004-03-06 07:17:00 | It's not cabling? You don't get the intermittent thing when plugged in at the back? It could be just one connector that misbehaves at the front, could be hotter at the front and the temperature increase slowly causes the problem. I can't see it being a setup thing. If you got things wrong on the motherboard they just wouldn't work. robo. |

| 220528 | 2004-03-06 07:27:00 | thanks Robo, I agree,its a bit tricky to fault find,I know the adapter is ok as it works ok on my notebook and another I am working on. I will recheck the wiring and try again,its kind of like interference from some where. John |

| 220529 | 2004-03-06 07:27:00 | I know of a couple of colleagues that both gave up on USB wireless, due to the USB adapter seemingly cutting out. They went to PCI in the end, as there seemed no answer as to why the USB would drop their network connection. |

| 220530 | 2004-03-06 09:38:00 | Thank you for the interest,I have had an other look at the wiring,I found the USB wires were running over the hard drive data cable,shifted,them and swapped No1 to no2 position,seems to be ok now. john. |
