221257 2004-03-09 07:52:00 Well, it seems like my pc is throwing a wobbly for no reason.
Here's they symptons........
During booting sometimes it will hang at "checking NVRAM", other times it will hang at the "starting windows" screen. But most of the time (about 3 out of 5) it boots without a problem.
Also there are a few other probles that have recently arisen, sometimes (after a few hours of use) cut/cpoy/paste will just not work, I wont be able to drang icons, and my DVD drive is not detected when windows loads.

So, does anyone have any ideas? My pc was working fine up until aobut 3 weeks ago, I haven't made any changes to it, so I'm lost for ideas.

oh, I'm running win 2k pro if thats of any use.

221259 2004-03-10 09:09:00 Do you think that its corrupt ram?
I'll download that program and take a look.

221260 2004-03-10 22:05:00 I'm not convinced that corrupt RAM is your problem. NVRAM is Non-Volatile RAM which is likely to have a battery backup.

Cheers

221261 2004-03-10 22:18:00 Thrash it through all the maintenance/ clean-ups/ dodgyware checks/ Spyware and Adware checks/ Clean out MSconfig/ try selective startup/ check out the FAQs here as well. (Top right of screen, used to be slow loading). Do all these then come back. :D mark c (247)
