| 221532 | 2004-03-10 06:56:00 | I'm thinking about buying a new video card but I wasn't sure what the difference between a 128MB and a 256MB card was. At the moment i'm thinking of getting the Albatron 5600XT (256MB) . I mostly want to use my computer for editing digital video and playing a few games. Any suggestions? | runt_monkey (5234) | ||

I done some research on the card and found out that the XT stands for budget version, unlike the Radeon cards which means extreme version. The FX 5600xt is equipped with 256meg of cheaper memory which runs at 400 mghrts, the core speed is a sluggish 235, The standard fx 5600 without the xt has 128 meg which runs at 700 mghrts and the core at 350, much more performance from this card even tho it has less memory, speed is more important. The store I brought it from was kind enough to let me exchange it for another ;\, I ended up getting the FX5700 ultra, which has 128meg running at a whopping 900 mghrts :o and the core at 475. I highly recommend this card |
