221370 2004-03-10 01:28:00 Hi people.
With a biggish backup I'm able to select the files. Finally get a note that I have files at the DVD drive waiting to be written - see them by clicking on balloon etc. The next response is that I need insert a DVD with sufficient space etc. Am I missing an instruction here to tell the system that it will need to write to multiple DVD's? Thanks

221371 2004-03-10 01:31:00 If this is using the in-built Windows tools, I was under the impression it couldnt burn to DVD's at all, let alone multiple DVD+/-RW's.

You're better off investing in some REAL DVD Burning software ;-)

221372 2004-03-10 01:35:00 Hi Chill Thanks. Yes, I'm trying to come to terms with XP's writer and with Nero 6 which came with the DVD writer. I was quite happy with Nero 5 and using CD's but it did not address DVD's - talk about starting again from the beginning. I've wasted several hours and feel that I'm really missing something simple here. Scouse (83)
221373 2004-03-10 23:33:00 IIRC, With Nero you get the list of CD Types you can burn (Data CD, Audio CD, CD Extra etc).
Up the top-left there should be a little drop-down menu.

Choose DVD Disc from there (Ive never actually burnt a DVD with Nero).
