| 223004 | 2004-03-17 00:25:00 | Hi. I want to get the missus a gift but I can't afford a new laptop. So would anyone want to exchange: I've got about a grand's worth of old PC kit, almost all 1 owner with boxes and manuals. A brief summary below... more info if you're interested: Full ATX case with mobo etc P3 1000 Video card 64mb Soundblaster card Ram 64mb pc100 17" monitor (Philips - almost brand new!) Keyboard mouse Speakers (el cheapo) ------ Midi case, mobo etc Cyrix (something... maybe old 86) Video (4mb) Sound card Modem 33.3 Hard drive 4 gig Speakers (even more el cheapo) Ram (ummm about 36mb) ------ Software: Win 95 ------- More software open to negotiation - all legit with manuals etc, mostly boxed: Large range of games Win 98 (1st ed) Another Win 95 ------- The laptop/notebook I'm after needs to have usb port/s, and be comfortably capable of running XP. -------- I think there's more bits to the hardware, but I'll confirm if I get any enquiries. Thanks! |

That's just a throw in! :_| Moron If anyone's not interested, please keep your opinion to yourselelf why don't you! If I wanted to go out and buy the kit above to assemble a gaming machine for kiddies and a workstation for word processing etc, I'd easily pay a grand for it. In return for a $400 used laptop I reckon it's not a ridiculous ask. |

| 223009 | 2004-03-17 01:18:00 | Being generous Greg, and not being a soccer player, IMHO the lot is not worth much more than $500 inclusive of all the software & hardware you can find to go with it. The problem with bulk deals is that prospective buyers don't want all that you offer so their price is based on what they want, the rest will be dumped. You can find a laptop for $500 but it won't run XP, or you can find a laptop that will run XP, but it won't be $500. I admire your intentions, but there's an aspiration gap there that you are unlikely to bridge unless you find a very kind person. A red coat and full set of reindeer, or wings and a wand are an absolute minimum spec. Cheers Billy 8-{) |
