2004-03-16 09:35:00 Is there any key difference between the amd athlon 2400+, and 2600+ there is a $30 price difference and I don't quite have enough to get the 2600 this week so is it really worth waiting another week for the higher speed rated 2600 Brad H (738)
2004-03-16 09:47:00 if it was me i would wait a week and get the 2600. robsonde (120)
2004-03-16 10:28:00 Assuming they have the same cache & bus speed, the 2600 is only ~8% faster and in the realworld you won't see even that much difference. But if its only another week, and given the price diff is so small, just get the 2600. bmason (508)
2004-03-16 10:34:00 I agree,a small difference but woth the wait anyhow. metla (154)
2004-03-16 11:22:00 Make sure your proposed Motherboard supports the AMD 2600 as well though before you buy.

Some motherboards will support the 2600 and others won't as the 2600 has a different core to the 2400.

2004-03-16 18:53:00 Yeah, check. My motherboard only supports a 266mhz FSB, so that would rule at the 2600, unless it was an old 2600 that has a slower FSB. mejobloggs (264)
2004-03-16 22:31:00 Okay, yes my motherboard is a gigabyte nforce2 that will support a fsb up to 400mhz Brad H (738)
