| 1358670 | 2013-11-04 01:45:00 | Running win 8 . 1 with UEFI BIOS . Trying to debug the win 8 . 1 sleep problem by isolating startups . After trying the diagnostic mode from msconfig I found I had (at least) no nic or sound dvrs running after the selective statup so went back into msconfig and ticked Normal startup . Rebooted and got the 'oh dear' moment . Error 0000225 and showed OS selection of two Win 7's . Nothing happened with those! Tried a Win 8 repair disk but that was useless as it asked which Win 7 OS I wanted . Anyway, I restored my C image and am back running . But I still would like to know how to get the boot thingies recreated . I did this once with no problem with an older mobo and the win 7 repair disk . Also like to know how the Normal startup in msconfig screwed up the boot loader . Cheers . |
