1337184 2013-04-16 01:22:00 For wage earner what is included in the pay for not working a public holiday.

Are shift and tool allowances included.
Is overtime also included (If worked regularly worked)

At my last job my pay slip would show 8hrs at a higher hourly rate.

I have asked at work but no one seems to know.

1337186 2013-04-16 02:35:00 Holiday pay is paid out at the same "normal rate" that you would be paid if it was not a holiday.
So if you always (or mostly) work overtime on that day then that becomes part of the holiday pay hourly rate.
For instance
$40 per hour normal day plus an hour overtime at $40
= hourly rate of $45 for the holiday.

If you get time and a half for overtime then its like this
$40 per hour normal day plus an hour overtime at $60
= $47.50 hourly rate.

The working is overtime hourly rate divided by 8 hour day to get overtime hourly rate
That is added to the standard hourly rate to give you the holiday rate.

Allowances are not included to my knowledge because they are not relevant, you are not using your tools, working your shift etc.
