1336417 2013-04-12 11:07:00 I really like Windows 8 with start8 or classic shell. It's so nicer to use and quicker to start up. has some pretty cool features as well. jonovw (16835)
1336418 2013-04-12 11:15:00 vista was a bit buggy and had a lot of compatibility issues

To be fair these were fixed over time, especially with the service packs. Part of Vista's problem was also being released too long after XP was.

1336419 2013-04-12 11:59:00 Another Win8 debate! It's really pointless - total waste of time!

If you think that Win8 is good, buy one and use it. Otherwise, stay where you are, use whatever OS you like, that's it.

Just let Microsoft go and crack their head.

Only going to upgrade to 7 soon because I think it's better, not that Vista is worse. As for 8, dunno enough about it - just had a short play with it and I can't be bothered. Greg (193)

If you are going to spend some cash upgrading from Vista

It may pay to do some research so that you get the best one for you.

I'm still on 7 and will probably stay on it till I build my next machine or until my & gets all clogged up.

Bit Windows 8 does have one feature that i'd like, and that is that if you have two screens, you can have a task bar on both screens
(but of course I am not sure of any features that apply to the average user)

And of course it depends what type of user you are.

1336422 2013-04-12 22:43:00 well I have win xp. I've only tried win 8 at a store which was on a tower with a touch screen. Didn't dislike it just felt a bit odd. We have win 7 at work. Maybe need to rethink 7 or 8 for new machine. As peach died this week. beetle (243)

1336424 2013-04-12 23:58:00 yeah but I don't know if I like it or that its just in the unknown zone and when I use it will become normal? Change can be good lol beetle (243)

Yes but we all like to see what others think!

Eg If most of the pc World World forum members said id was a dog I would not get it.

If most of them said it was great I would.
