Braun shavers did, the only ones that do not get my very sensitive skin irritated, furthermore they shave as good as wet shaving. I could not believe this myself until I tried them.

I started with a series 3 years ago and 18 months ago I upgraded to a series 5 www.braun.com

They also come with a sanitizing system which thoroughly cleans them and makes them smell fresh every time.

Hands down the best I have ever tried, and I was a staunch wet shaver.

1336286 2013-04-11 19:48:00 My experiences have been the opposite, but based on some very outdated models.

My old Braun foil would easily cause a rash, was useless on anything more than a days growth, and on occasion would also provide a small nick to the skin.

By comparison, the new Remmington rotary cheapie from Briscoes does better on longer growth, doesn't bite, and leaves no rash. However, it sounds like it is seriously underpowered and barely managing to turn the blades (batteries).

The Braun foil would require many, many strokes over the same bit of skin. The trick to the Remmington rotary is to move it very slowly acros the skin, but only needing one or two passes to get the job done.

I won't be embracing a foil again.

I agree the old ones were rubbish. That is chnged in the las 10 years. I had a mate from the UK who came to visit me, this guy hated electric shavers with passion. Whatever he tried would hurt his skin and would not take the fine greish/blond hair. We needee to go out in a hurry and he had run out of wet blades, had no alternative than use my shaver. Went back home with a new boxed series 7.
