:)

Nope well maybe just wondering if you would recognise that vehicle and what it was doing travelling at twice the psted speedlimit through roadworks?

1337051 2013-04-15 10:16:00 What type vehicle do you think this is?
The yellow and black stripes must mean something. A Company vehicle maybe. There is small sign written lettering as well.

1337053 2013-04-15 10:57:00 Theres nothing in there to indicate its a Local Goverment or council vehicle is there?

Maybe this will help and this is what we saw on the dashcam! As it approached it was unclear what it was from the front . When it passed it become a bit more clearer and we knew exactly whose vehicle it was .

30kph road work limit, loose metal all over the road and travelling at 60kph . But what was the rush?

1337054 2013-04-15 11:00:00 Isn't it some sort of St John's or Fire service vehicle? CYaBro (73)

Horizons Regional Council Rural Fire and Emergency Management (Civil Defence), Contracted by Ruapehu District Council in Taumarunui . The rush was to a scrub fire near Waiouru where New Zealand Fire Service with those big red trucks and hoses were already in attendance and in control of a grass fire . This Hilux has no fire fighting capability in fact not even registerd as a Fire vehicle (note Vehicle Usage: Private Passenger in carjam) .

I bet few of you dont know the differance between what Rural Fire and New Zealand Fire Service do? Basically Rural Fire goes to vegatation Fires Only so no life saving and non urgent response unlike your red trucks who go straight away . That aside they are still obliged to maintain the temporary posted speedlimit and not blast a siren passing livestock .

Either way you would at least expect and apology to a complaint and offer to repair the vehicle after the Driver has admitted in writing to drivig at twice the posted speedlimit? Especially from an emergency service vehicle thats actions could quite easily lead to a more serious incident . The Police said because it was an emergency vehicle and once again the police were put straight on the role of the vehicle they would not pursue the matter . Even though the insurance company wants a incident number before they will repair the cars damage .

1337057 2013-04-15 11:40:00 I work on earthmoving machinery, trucks, rollers and pavers at roadworks. Have to work right on the road sometimes with the cars going less than a metre from me as I am lying under the machines and I have to cross the road sometimes to get stuff from truck. Speeders if no contractors are looking get a rock thrown at them as they go past. In fact when the contractors do see me throw a rock they do a Sgt Schultz. prefect (6291)
1337058 2013-04-15 19:58:00 Next time I see some overalled legs poking out from a stalled roadworks vehicle, I may throw a Schultz-shaped cyclist at them, purely as a precaution against notified hazards. ;) R2x1 (4628)
1337059 2013-04-15 23:28:00 You should contact the council or someone in charge seeking repair costs, if they agree It's easier for everyone.

If the insurance company gets involved they may well end up in small claims court which won't look good for an emergency service. I dont see how the police can refuse to log an incident even if they aren't interested in pursuing it, have you explained you require a number for you insurance?

Also how much damage are we talking about?
