1358749 2013-11-04 08:55:00 Hi

I've purchased a TP-Link 8980 modem (thank you all for advice on a previous thread) and I've connected it via the set up CD. It works fine when connected via the cord but I can't get the wireless connection to function. Any ideas on how I could get it to work wirelessly would be appreciated. Thanks

1358750 2013-11-04 09:12:00 Turn the wireless on in the modem / set it to WPA2 and AES. Give it a password. Do the same thing for the wireless on the computer. Under network connections / wireless. Whats the version of windows? Speedy Gonzales (78)
1358751 2013-11-04 09:23:00 Hi Speedy, it's Windows 7 JR JohnnyR (9277)
1358752 2013-11-04 09:40:00 Go to the menu / control panel / network and sharing center. Change adapter settings. Select the wireless one / wireless properties. Click on the security tab. Put in the encryption and the password you put in the router then OK

I take it whatever you're trying to connect from does have wireless?

1358753 2013-11-04 09:57:00 Bottom right on the taskbar you should see like a graph thing thats the wireless. Select it, select your modem. It'll ask for the password, type it in the same password you put in the modem Speedy Gonzales (78)
