1336626 2013-04-13 10:22:00 Hi Team

As usual, I am lagging well behind on OS versions, having only recently migrated from W2K to XP when I bought a new computer. I had three unused copies of XP Pro, so naturally that was my upgrade of choice.

Now I want to move to 32 bit W7 but need the Pro version to maintain XP compatibility. I figured (wrongly) that the release of W8 would produce a steady flow of W7 Pro discs on Trade Me but I've had it on watch for several weeks now and none have shown up as yet. Not very many of the lesser versions have appeared either!

To be embarrassingly honest, I'm not sure of about the implications or issues involved in installing the 64 bit version, but I run a lot of old software for my business so I'm playing safe by looking for the 32 bit version.

So, does anybody here have a redundant copy of W7 Pro that they'd like to turn into folding stuff?

If so PM me please and we can talk turkey.

Cheers

1336627 2013-04-13 20:26:00 I don't have a spare Win7, but my Win7 has been sending me spare lately.

It's become unstable, with freeze-ups and reboots (and no, I don't have Kaspersky, I'm using MSSE).

Just the other day it rebooted while Thunderbird was open, and it chewed up my TBird user profiles. It looked like I'd lost 10 years of emails, but luckily I found the data and was able to reconstruct things. Not a nice experience, but a good reminder that I've become way too slack regarding backups.
