1336530 2013-04-12 23:11:00 I am giving an old laptop to a young friend of ours but she needs MS Office. She has no money so I thought I would look at a free version.

Which is the best to install please? (OS is Win Vista SP2)

Thanks

Ken

Have a look here (www.techsupportalert.com).

1336532 2013-04-13 01:05:00 If you are used to using Microsoft Office, then either kingsoft or Softmaker. Both look like the older layouts of office 2003 and work almost identical to MS Office.

If you had the Paid version of Kingsoft which is a lot cheaper than MS Office its is so close to MS Office with the Ribbon you would hardly notice the difference.

In the past I have also had a play with Libre office, its OK but the above mentioned work more Like MS Office.

1336536 2013-04-15 14:30:00 I recommend SoftMaker too, it's way better than all other MS alternatives.

SoftMaker also offers a free version of their office suite with less features, but pretty enough for most users, you can find information and download it here:
