| 223632 | 2004-03-19 05:39:00 | Ok I'm using Easy Cd Creator 6 to make my audio cds. A while ago I managed to make a cd and when I inserted it into our car cd player (New Sony model) it would show up the song title and artist when the song was playing. This is just normal cd-r burn to cda format. I made another audio cd and tried to get it to show up the songs and artist when the song was playing, but couldn't replicate the anomaly. Although that cd mostly were made up of wav files from my cds. So could our car cd player be reading the song's ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags when it plays a song? How is it doing that when its just a cda file? I think the songs that it does that on might have been originally MP3 and I just dragged them to the list in Easy Cd Creator. Can I get these song titles and artists to show up if the original song is a wav file? I don't think a wav file can have ID3 tags?? I don't particularly want to be converting the wavs to mp3 and then burning the mp3's to cd anymore as thats a big quality reduction. TIA! |

That would provide some good clues on how to burn the cds so it shows the title, artist etc. I think its a special function of the player. |

It will also probably only play .mp3 tagged songs, with no allowance if they are not recorded as mp's. Yes, there are different types of id tags for songs, but I can't find out what is compatible with your player. |

| 223637 | 2004-03-19 08:50:00 | The player only plays CD-R/RW. No mp3 capability. | kiki (762) | ||
| 223638 | 2004-03-19 09:55:00 | The xplod is a range of stereos, only a few models in the range have mp3 capability. Im only bothering to post this so I can mention how good the xplod mp3 playback is, it can and does read mp3 tracks with no tags, dodgy tags and mucked up bitrates. Seems all the problems were ironed out at least 2 generations ago (damn car stereo's become obsolete faster then a P4) |

| 223639 | 2004-03-19 11:53:00 | If your stereo can only play audio CD's then the feature you are looking for is CD-TEXT. I use Nero Burning ROM for my discs and when I burn discs I select the CD-TEXT box and the song titles are displayed on my Sony home stereo. The thing to remember is that you car stereo must support CD-TEXT for you to see the song titles on the CD. So in short make sure you select CD-TEXT when burning your discs and also make sure that your car stereo also supports CD-TEXT. Hope that helped cheers chiefnz |

| 223640 | 2004-03-19 12:23:00 | Ahh thanks chief. That makes sense. The car sterio supports CD-Text for sure. But how do I find that option in Easy Cd Creator? | kiki (762) | ||
| 223641 | 2004-03-19 12:28:00 | Actually thats me being lazy :) Found it in the help options :D Writing CD TEXT to Disc CD TEXT is a feature that allows you to store text information like the disc title, artist name, and track titles on a music CD . This information can then be displayed on consumer electronic devices that support CD TEXT information . You can enable the feature on your disc if your recorder supports CD TEXT and you record your disc in Disc-at-Once mode . To write CD TEXT: Prepare your music CD project as you normally would . When you burn your project to disc, make sure the following is true in the Record Setup dialog box: Select the Write CD TEXT check box . (If you cannot check this box and Disc-at-Once is the selected Record Method, the feature is not supported by your recorder . ) Click the Details button and make sure Disc-at-Once is the selected Record Method . Many thanks chiefnz, and others who commented :) Problemo solved! :D |
