| 223574 | 2004-03-19 00:37:00 | Hi stu14013 The site has been having problems as of yesterday, I picked this up from a site that mentions what problems they were having . update: Microsoft confirmed on Thursday that many MSN customers have been prevented from logging onto services such as Hotmail and MSN Messenger . The outage comes barely a week after the software giant experienced similar sign-in problems with the e-mail service and the instant-messaging service . Both use Microsoft Passport, a universal password and authentication software that is incorporated into MSN's family of Web sites . Regards Intel Hunter |

| 223575 | 2004-03-19 00:42:00 | I first tried windows messenger, then yahoo before I posted . Both were OK . Then tried msn messenger - it signed in ok, then said there was an update, which installed fine, and I am back on again . Maybe you need the update? Weird about Yahoo though . . . are you connecting through a proxy server, and need to reset your socks settings? J :D |

That update is for MSN messenger 6 . 0 - 6 . 1, which I am not using, I am using 5 . 0, which MSN still supports . . . . I think it is an ISP issues(any one else who is with Quicksilver/Maxnet having the same problem???) > Weird about Yahoo though . . . are you connecting > through a proxy server, and need to reset your socks > settings? Nope, just a strait connection to the Internet over a network with ICS (& dad is having the same problem as well) |
