| 223652 | 2004-03-19 08:09:00 | could someone tell me the name of the little freebee prog that will wipe everything of a HD? | Dumb1 (5351) | ||
| 223653 | 2004-03-19 08:27:00 | an axe through the middle of the hdd will do it nicely if you want to have it so that no one ever can read what's been on there..............otherwise there are many ways to wipe the drive.....from 'format' 'fdisk' ........to 'zero fill' which writes zero's to the drive over and over ......however the FBI or whoever will most likely have some methods to recover what you used to have on there unless you smash the drive physically. | drcspy (146) | ||
| 223654 | 2004-03-19 08:32:00 | Assuming you are using a Microsoft operating system you can use Format and FDISK. This is free and you may already have it. This will not beat professional people really looking hard for data on a hard drive. Maybe you are looking for this one:- http://www.killdisk.com/ Some people insist that data CAN be recovered on any hard drive unless you drive over it with a truck several times then get out the oxyacetylene and melt the whole deal. |
