224143 2004-03-21 10:34:00 Oh bugga and me having just purchased a dvd writer for my computer and a dvd recorder for my TV, guess I should have waited a bit :D Wonder if I can take them back :D :D Odin (227)
224144 2004-03-21 10:46:00 I would be surprised if these take off, current dvd's are plenty large enough. metla (154)
224145 2004-03-21 11:52:00 I (politely) disagree,

I think we've all seen that in IT there seems to be no limit to how big and powerful technology gets - people adapt it to fit with current demands (one thought would be creating copies of dvds, albeit legelly or illegally), or find new ways of using it.

I've just bought a dvd writer to backup my computer, and it's much better than CDs but being able to fit more information on one disk to make life simpler. It mainly comes don to a matter of cost...

(end rant :o)

224146 2004-03-21 11:59:00 Movies back up just fine to a 4.7gb dvd,I cant see anyone(well many anyway) who already own a dvd burner upgrading, nor can i see many new buyers opting for a more expensive slower system when 4.7g is a huge amount anyway. metla (154)
224147 2004-03-21 12:28:00 lol thats whatthey said about the 40 gig drives when they came out :D "You don't need that much hard drive space, what on earth are you gonna put on it" Well I got 240 gigs of hard drive space now and I am still runnig out of room ;-)

I make images of my game cd's and run them using virtual drives, saves scratching my game cd's and also means I don't have to hunt around under the piles of rubbish, notes and softdring bottles trying to find the cd :D

So I have to agree with nimtz (sorry of spealt wrong) the Bigger the Better I say, but only when they come down in price of course :D

224148 2004-03-21 12:33:00 Why not just install the game then apply a crack? metla (154)
224149 2004-03-21 12:38:00 Use a game crack!!! <SHOCK> <HORROR> that would be wrong and illegal I'm sure, one would never do such a thing <Sarcasim>

Beside some games still need the cd even with the no cd crack (but then I wouldn't know about that of course) :D
Odin (227)
224150 2004-03-21 12:44:00 I must have good luck then; none of my games need the cd in once cracked.

gamecopyworld has a database of cracks, more often then not there is more then one released due to some not working properly.

Err......hypothetically speaking of course....

nah, bugger it, imo no-cd cracks are a savoir and should be considered entirely separate from the world of illegal software.
