224064 2004-03-20 12:08:00 Hey :)
I purchased NASCAR thunder 2004 today...
installed it...
ran it..
said i had not enuf memory....but box said i require 254mb..
and my computer said 254mb is on computer?
but it only detects 190mb? so that means it shares it....
cant i still run the game even if memory lower would mean a "lower" grade of performance?

if yes..how can i bypass the error window saying low memory...

am using winxp home

224065 2004-03-20 13:25:00 Obviously your graphics card shares some of the memory but whether the game will still run you can only try it. mikebartnz (21)
224066 2004-03-21 00:30:00 Sure it isnt refering to your Graphics card memory ? kiwibeat (304)

at a guess is you have winXP with 256 ram with 64 being shared to the onboard ram giveing you 190 ram for the system to use, hence it won't run. go buy some more ram.

224068 2004-03-21 01:37:00 Rather then buy more RAM why not get a real video card? assuming your system has an agp slot...

From what I have seen of late it will cost you much the same..

because it will still not play due to lack of ram.

224071 2004-03-21 04:03:00 hey guys
sorry i didnt reply earlier and yes i use a laptop...
i evenutally got it working...
what i did was right click on the game and properties and switched the compatiblity to win98 and it works brilliant, yes i admit it might be lower quality than what i would have got on full memory on winxp...but i wouldnt know as it didnt work...
so yay it worked and money wasnt wasted :D
