Did your dad set a BOIS password himself of did it come with one?
If it did you should be able to get it form Toshiba Support. Have you asked them? |

There's a little trick that you can use to bypass the password... but it involves disassembling a parallel port cable and some resoldering. I don't want to tell everyone on PressF1 what it is in case it's used wrong, but get my email address out of my profile and I'll email it to you. |

sounds interesting...........um......how could it be used 'wrong' .?...........I somehow doubt too many folks here would be interested in this for any 'wrong' reason lol |

I've used it before and it's fine... it's actually just resoldering the parallel port cable. I didn't want ot put it on this site because I didn't want anyone with bad intentions to steal anyone's laptop and removing the password so they could sell it on. |

if someone steals a puter i doubt they'll be put off by a password or want to bother doing some soldering |
