224060 2004-03-21 00:54:00 Hi,

Just installed early version of WinXP - previously 2000 Pro - disconnected a second HDD (NTFS Dynamic) before installing XP - once setup I shutdown and reconnect the IDE connecter then rebooted expecting the partitions to be detected and installed - this has not happened.

Opened Computer Management Console and then Disk Mgmt - the disk is there but it has a caution (yellow ! triangle) and says it is foreign - no partitions are shown.

I have done this with 2000 many a time - why doesn't XP want to play nice??

Please Help

224061 2004-03-21 01:11:00 Never mind - just another reason why XP Home isn't as good as Pro

224062 2004-03-21 01:13:00 quite probably that you have installed your xp home as Fat32 so it cant 'see/read' the win2k drcspy (146)
224063 2004-03-21 01:14:00 No its all NTFS but XP Home can't read Dyanamic Disks - sad. HadO (796)
